Having bridal portraits taken before your wedding is not necessary, but over the years, I've learned that it does relieve some stress and time on your wedding day. With a bridal session, you'll have the opportunity to ensure that you love your hair and makeup, are satisfied with the style of your bouquet, get more comfortable with your wedding venue, and finalize your "bridal look." With this 1-hour session, we will capture you and your wardrobe and accessory details, giving us more time on your wedding day to focus on the other important details of your big day.
01.
I suggest your bridal portraits be taken at your venue so your photos feel like they were taken on your wedding day. In my experience, most venues will give you access to the space on a weekday when there are not events scheduled.
The best time to take bridal portraits is 4-6 weeks before your wedding. With this timeline, I can get photos back to you for wedding day use and allows ample time to make any hair, makeup, or accessory changes, if needed.

We'll still grab some portraits of you in your attire on your wedding day! That's part of the beauty of bridal sessions, you get to see how you'll look with the complete look so you have time to make changes instead of wishing you did XX different on the wedding day!
06. what if I change my bridal look between the session & my wedding?
Turnaround time for bridal sessions is typically 2-3 weeks, which is why during busy season I recommend you scheduling your bridal session a little sooner so we have plenty of time for shooting, editing, ordering and delivery of printed products!
05. how soon will i get my images back to order prints and canvases?
Most venues allow us to take bridal portraits on their property but it varies from venue to venue! Just like your engagement session, we can select a location that fits the vibe of your wedding venue or I have access to a clean bright white studio in Richmond.
04. where should we take the bridal portraits?
Your wedding dress, veil, jewelry, shoes (and a comfy pair!), bouquet and anything else you'll be wearing on your wedding day.
03. what should i be bringing with me to my session?
4-6 weeks before the wedding day, whenever your final fitting and alterations have been done for your wedding dress!
02. when should I book my bridal session?
No, but the sooner the better so I can get your session on my calendar! You can let me know if you'd like a bridal session anytime after booking but keeping in mind that they should be done 4-6 weeks PRIOR to your wedding day!
01. do i need to tell you if i want a bridal session right away?
Have a question? I've got an answer! And if you don't see your question here, please reach out via email: email@youremail.com.
